Ilion Studios is seeking a Previz/Layout Artist to be responsible for generating the previzualization of the film and refining the final camera movements, in accordance with the established storytelling guidelines.

• Creates the previzualization sequences & shots for the movie according to the director’s guidelines, whilst reporting to the lead layout artist.
• Works with the lead layout artist and Art director to generate simple set schematics and models.
• Creates a rough layout, including character animation blocking and camera movement, following the existing storyboard.
• Add detail to previzualitions, such as scene lighting and narrative relevant effects.
• Confirm the integrity of the production breakdown of all elements in a scene.
• Works on the final layout of shots.

• Extensive knowledge of Maya is necessary
• Demonstrable artistic skills including a strong sense of composition and perspective, the ability to create atmosphere and good understanding of editing.
• Knowledge of Animation is a must.
• Understands cameras, staging, composition, pacing, timing, general film-making concepts, both in animation and live action contexts.
• Comfortable creating basic assets.
• Experience with Lighting preferred.
• Respect for the procedures and requirements of the studio, production and pipeline.
• Clear, professional communication skills
